The magic of new beginnings – Residents share their New Year’s resolutions

EVERY YEAR MILLIONS OF PEOPLE MAKE NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS, HOPING TO SPARK POSITIVE CHANGE IN THEIR LIVES. HERE IS WHAT OUR RESIDENTS ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO IN 2023!

Candy Hardy
GemLife Tweed Waters
“My resolution for 2023 is to live in the now. I want to enjoy every minute, especially when I move into my new home at GemLife Tweed Waters. I don’t want to miss a second!”

Rod Cupples
GemLife Woodend
“Music is at the heart of my New Year’s resolution because I want to play the keyboard and learn how to read music. I’ve begun lessons at TAFE with a few other residents. Only
wish I had started 60 years ago!”

Pat & Ross Hamilton
GemLife Maroochy Quays
“Having recently returned from a trip away in the Explore by GemLife motorhome, we want to hire it again and travel more in 2023. As part of our resolution, we also want to have more parties. We like to celebrate everything!”

Karen Warcaba & Brian Wherrett
GemLife Gold Coast
“Our resolution is to do twice daily walks to enable us to fully enjoy and maximise our use of all the amazing facilities at our future GemLife Gold Coast home!”

Anita & Andre de Does
GemLife Maroochy Quays
“Our New Year’s resolution is to get more involved in the many activities here at GemLife Maroochy Quays in 2023. We want to stop putting things off and make time to commit to things we want to do like Zumba, mahjong, aqua aerobics and going to the beach.”

Dianne Ball & Noel McGilvray
GemLife Pacific Paradise
“Our first big resolution is to move into our new home at GemLife Pacific Paradise. We will be closer to the ocean, public transport and coffee shops and cycling will be a breeze. We also want to visit our
son in England.”

Bronwyn & Alan James
GemLife Woodend
“Our resolution is to spend more time travelling in 2023, with plans to avoid the Victorian winter and head to either Horizontal Falls in Western Australia or up along the east coast to Cairns in our 4WD and caravan. A flight to Airlie Beach and Noosa Heads is also planned.”

Kathryn McIntyre
GemLife Highfields
“I’d like to spend more time doing things with my husband, such as using the GemLife pool and socialising at the bar with other residents.”

Patricia Wickham
GemLife Palmwoods
“Having recently lost my husband after 50 years of marriage, my resolution is to carry through with my promise to him to be an active member of the community and join others in interests such as needlework, cooking, sewing, cross-stitch and learning how to use the internet. I’d also like to socialise more.”

Linda Young
GemLife Bribie Island
“My life-long resolution is to be happy and to keep dancing. I love to wear a smile, and dancing is great exercise.”

Brenda Faulkner
GemLife Bribie Island
“Since moving into the resort in May, I have been so busy as well as spending two months overseas, so my resolution is to spend more time on getting settled into my beautiful new home overlooking the lake. I like to keep fit too and would love to do a hiking trip to Italy as well as continue at the gym, swimming and power walking here at GemLife.”

Denise & Geoff Lovett
GemLife Gold Coast
“We make the same resolution every year and that is to live life to the fullest and enjoy every day as it comes. We are also looking forward to making new friendships and living a happy, fulfilled life when we move into our new home at GemLife Gold Coast. It’s all so exciting!”

Di & Bob Murphy
GemLife Palmwoods
“Our resolution is to make the most of our beautiful new home, surroundings and facilities here at the resort and to keep up our regular fitness routine which includes a half hour walk into nearby Palmwoods. We have also booked the Explore by GemLife motorhome for a three-day trip in January to celebrate our 44th anniversary. There’s so much to look forward to in 2023.”

Rick & Ann Tremblay
Gemlife Rainbow Beach
“Our New Year’s resolution is to move into our beautiful new home that is nearing completion at Gemlife Rainbow Beach. As soon as the country club is open, we also want to get back into the gym and swimming because
keeping fit is important to us.”
