ARTIST NOEL FORBES, 82, IS ONE OF THE INSPIRATIONAL AUSTRALIANS OVER 50 WHO STARS IN GEMLIFE’S NEW TV SERIES, AGELESS.
On Saturday, 4 May, audiences across Australia can watch Noel on Channel Nine as he explores dating again, through his interests of faith and art.
“If someone told me when I was younger that I’d be married three times in my life, I would have thought ‘no way’, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. People change and people move on,” he said.
Noel, who is from Tinbeerwah near Noosa, has recovered from heartbreak and his positive attitude has helped him a lot. He says he wouldn’t have lasted long in a sales and marketing career without such an attitude. On AGELESS Noel navigates dating with the help of relationship counsellor Heidi Sommer-Ball.
Although he’s confident speaking to people and to audiences, it was his first-time filming for a television series.
“It was quite an experience; eight hours of filming, and answering questions for most of the day,” he said.
“I enjoyed it immensely. As for dating, I’ve gone on many dates and although I am still looking for someone, I have met some beautiful people.
Internet dating is a good way of meeting new people.
“I like to experience different things – I’m not someone who sits around. Life is beautiful, people are what make the world, so why would you be sitting at home worrying about things?”
In retirement, Noel is a mentoring chaplain and is kept busy catching up with a large family including his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also getting a lot of joy from his visual art pieces.
