THE EXPLORE BY GEMLIFE LUXURIOUS JAYCO CONQUEST DX MOTORHOMES HAVE CLOCKED UP THOUSANDS OF KILOMETRES AND VISITED DOZENS OF TOP TRAVEL DESTINATIONS AROUND THE COUNTRY SINCE THEY WERE FIRST LAUNCHED A YEAR AGO.

In an industry `first’, the innovative travel initiative, which is celebrating its first birthday this month, was introduced for the exclusive use of GemLife over-50s lifestyle resort homeowners and has proven to be a runaway success.

GemLife Director & CEO Adrian Puljich said the initiative recognised the importance of travel for the over-50s market, bringing a ground-breaking new offering to its growing number of lifestyle resorts.

“Our homeowners are active and have a huge passion for travel. Many residents owned motorhomes or caravans which hadn’t been utilised as much as they had expected, while others wanted an avenue to explore the country without the hassle of acquisition costs,” he said.

“We knew we had to come up with a solution which would allow them to continue living the lifestyle they desired without dealing with corresponding capital outlay and ongoing costs of registration, servicing and maintenance.

“Explore by GemLife has given homeowners the option to sell their existing motorhome if they wish, while giving them the freedom to go on a roadtrip whenever they want by hiring the GemLife-exclusive RVs at well below typical market prices.”

Spearheaded by GemLife Director of Sales & Marketing, Andrew Coulter, said the results of the groundbreaking initiative spoke for themselves.

“We have had back-to-back bookings since it’s been set in motion. Over 100 residents have hired the Explore by GemLife motorhomes in our first year, and all five motorhomes have been on the road for a total of 1682 days,” said Andrew.

“The trips have varied from 3 to 137 days with the average holiday lasting 12 days, and our eye-catching motorhomes have been seen everywhere from the white sandy beaches of the Whitsundays to the more remote outback towns of Eulo, Noccundra and Longreach as well as quiet hideaways such as Green Hills Lake in Victoria. Explore by GemLife has been a huge program to get up and running and I’d like to give special thanks to the initiative’s manager, Lisa Grant for all her hard work over the past 12 months.” he said.

The Explore by GemLife fleet features original illustrations of iconic Australian landscapes – from Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, the Northern Territory’s Nitmiluk National Park, and Queensland’s Glass House Mountains and Daintree Rainforest – capturing the diversity and beauty of our country’s breathtaking natural environment.

The interiors of the motorhomes are just as impressive. Spacious and stylish, the motorhomes are designed to accommodate two adults. From a generous living area with leather seats and a modern entertainment system, to a comfortable double-bed with a luxe ensuite bathroom as well as a fully equipped kitchen, the RVs are packed with features and upgrades for the ultimate travel experience.

Since the launch, Explore by GemLife has had 19 repeat bookings in the past year, with one couple hiring the motorhome four times to stoke their wanderlust. GemLife Bribie Island takes the cake with its homeowners spending a total of 834 days on the road – the highest number amongst all our resorts.

Adrian added that GemLife was always looking to the future and creating new initiatives for homeowners.

“The adventure has just begun, and we are excited to see where it will lead us.”
