On Tour with Allan Border

GET INSPIRED FOR YOUR NEXT AUSSIE ROAD TRIP WITH A BRAND-NEW SEASON OF ON TOUR WITH ALLAN BORDER.

Proudly sponsored by GemLife, On Tour will showcase the best of the best attractions, activities and locations around the country when it kicks off at 11am on 8 October on 7MATE.

Executive Producer of MCW Productions and On Tour with Allan Border, Jason Kennedy, said viewers could expect to see a more “hands-on approach” in the latest season with the hosts hopping into RVs to travel to more destinations.

“Season two brings two of Australia’s biggest names to the screen – true iconic sports stars – to get down and dirty on the road across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria,” said Jason.

“From roller coasters to restaurants, AB left no stone unturned when experiencing the best of rural and South East Queensland plus the Northern Rivers Region of New South Wales,” he said.

“AB’s rollercoaster rides at Aussie World and Sea World were hilarious and are sure to give viewers some laughs!” Fishing on the Sunshine Coast’s Noosa River, where there are many opportunities for great fishing year-round, provides another series highlight.

“AB reeled in a nice tailor fish, despite dropping a whopper by the side of the boat. The prize catch was definitely the one that got away – we all saw it, so that’s no fisherman’s tale,” Jason laughed.

The Noosa River is mostly clear throughout the year with excellent fishing to be had for bream, flathead, tailor, trevally, and further upstream, wild Australian bass.

Jason added that another highlight was heading to outback Queensland for the Curry Merry Muster, an annual event that began in Cloncurry in 1954, giving locals and visitors alike a special entertainment experience that includes showcasing fundamental stock skills in a rodeo setting.

“On top of the rodeo, we got to join the cattlemen outside as part of a big awards dinner at the showgrounds,” he said.

“AB and the big Dipper had a ball shooting the show. It’s going to be an especially entertaining and inspiring new season!”
