ABOUT 20 GEMLIFE MAROOCHY QUAYS HOMEOWNERS HAVE CRUISED THEIR WAY THROUGH AN EXCITING ADVENTURE ON THE HIGH SEAS.

The ten-day P&O voyage to Papua New Guinea had been planned for a long time by Debra and Keith Wheeldon who had originally booked the trip at the height of the pandemic and were disappointed when it was cancelled.

They re-booked for this latest cruise and, while swimming in the GemLife pool one day, were surprised to discover that Papua New Guinea had proven extremely popular with enthusiastic resort travellers and 18 others would also be joining them.

“I had no idea there would be so many of our neighbours from here at GemLife Maroochy Quays travelling with us on the same cruise,” said Debra.

However the Maroochy Quays cruisers, who called themselves `The Gemmies’, stuck together the whole way.

“There were some real highlights including a ‘white night’ and a Gatsby night where we all dressed up. We also celebrated Jimmit’s 84th birthday and there were lots of cocktails consumed on board. We tried to pick our favourite cocktails, but it was too hard to choose,” said Debra.

The Gemmies also stepped on firm ground at PNG where they caught up with the locals and took in the sights.

Debra said that travelling together was a lot of fun, as seen by these photographs from the cruise.
