A 500-metre walk from GemLife Palmwoods is a bus station that will take you to any of the local amenities or to neighbouring towns. A five-minute drive from the resort is the Palmwoods train station which will have you in Brisbane city centre or the beautiful beaches of the Sunshine Coast in under two hours. Looking for a getaway to Sydney, Cairns or the Whitsundays? The Sunshine Coast Airport is just 20 minutes away, making the possibilities endless.

Social and active living

While GemLife Palmwoods will offer a diverse range of first-class recreational and leisure facilities, the town of Palmwoods itself is brimming with things to do. Just three minutes from the resort is the Palmwood Bowls Club. A ten-minute drive from the resort is the Nambour RSL Club and less than 20 minutes from the resort are the Nambour Golf Club and Headland Golf Club. Finish off the day with a trip to the Palmwoods Hotel for an evening of drinks and live music at the pub, or treat yourself to a juicy steak, irresistible seafood, or one of what has been called the best chicken parmi on the Sunshine Coast.

Arts hub

Palmwoods is often referred to as the region’s arts and craft hub with a number of different galleries and art classes on offer including Anchor and Noble Art Gallery, Piccabeen Pottery and renowned glass-sculpture artist, Tina Cooper’s gallery and glassmaking studio which is set in beautifully landscaped gardens with a truly amazing view. Additionally, the famous galleries, stained-glass studios and museums of Montville, are just 10 minutes away. 

Outdoor adventures

There is something truly special about the Sunshine Coast hinterland, and Palmwoods is at the centre of it all. Right on your doorstep, bordering the GemLife Palmwoods resort is the tranquil waters of Paynter Creek. Palmwoods is the south-eastern gateway to the Kondalilla National Park. The mountain park is home to magnificent waterfalls, ancient forests of cedar, mahogany, bunya and hoop pine, and picturesque cliff-top picnic areas. Just a short drive from the resort are Eudlo Creek National Park, Towen Mountain and Conondale National Park, ensuring a new hinterland adventure is never far away.
