The vitality and energy surrounding GemLife over- 50s lifestyle resorts was a key factor in Kevin and Sue Manning’s decision to sign up for a new home at GemLife Gold Coast.
The former real estate agent and his wife were introduced to GemLife by a client who had bought at GemLife Maroochy Quays.
“They invited us to take a look and we were very impressed. We had seen other places but the GemLife resort just blew us away,” said Mr Manning who recently sold his real estate sales and property management business.
“Our plan in retirement is to travel and remain as fit and active as possible so an over-50s lifestyle resort rather than a retirement village was ideal for us. It also offered great security within a gated community as well as a far more appealing financial structure.”
Originally from South Australia, Kevin and Sue have lived in the Brisbane suburb of Carindale for 24 years and were keen to stay on the south side once they retired which led them to explore opportunities at GemLife Gold Coast.
“Once we found out what was on offer, we made our decision and put down our deposit straight away,” said Kevin.
“After 43 years of marriage and three children, we are experiencing freedom for the first time. Until we discovered GemLife we had planned to move into our investment property, but now we can’t wait to experience over-50s lifestyle resort living first-hand. Less maintenance, more security, magnificent facilities that will help us keep fit and active, as well as the freedom to come and go as we please,” he said.
“We want to start ticking off what’s on our wish list while we are still young enough to enjoy life, which involves a lot of travel as well, so this style of living is ideal.”
Kevin and Sue have never lived in a brand-new home before and said the range of designs available at GemLife was amazing.
“Sue was captivated by all the homes, especially the split-level designs and we have already changed our minds twice about which design is right for us, but it is all very exciting.”
He described the resort’s country club and everything that comes with it such as a gym, roof-top swimming pool and so much more as extraordinary and was also bowled over by the quality and high-end finishes of the homes.
The social aspect of living in a community environment also appealed to the couple.
“We are very social people and are looking forward to meeting other residents and making the most of the superb recreational facilities and social events at the resort’s country club. There is just so much to look forward to at GemLife Gold Coast,” said Kevin.
