ON YOUR MARKS FOR THE GEMLIFE GAMES IN SEPTEMBER! CAN WE COUNT ON YOU TO MAKE OUR COMPETITORS FEEL WELCOME?

GemLife’s inaugural inter-resort event, taking place at GemLife Maroochy Quays on Friday, 8 September, is not just for the sporty types – there are plenty of opportunities to become involved as home hosts.

With a number of competitors already confirmed, we’re also expecting a strong travelling cheer contingent who will need a home for a night or two.

GemLife resorts have always been known for their friendly, community feeling, and this is the perfect opportunity to make new friends and create terrific memories.

Wayne Taylor from GemLife Maroochy Quays, a former professional golfer, is helping to coordinate the lawn bowls and golf simulator groups for the event.

“The GemLife Games are a great initiative,” he said. “The resorts have a reputation for being friendly, but this is taking it to the next level by creating the opportunity to make new friends across the resorts.

“This is something which is already happening. Homeowners from Bribie Island and Pacific Paradise regularly visit to play bowls and snooker.

And to learn that people from GemLife Woodend are coming all the way from Victoria is just fantastic. We’re looking forward to making them feel welcome.”

His tip is to keep an eye on the golf simulation tournament.

“We have a strong team here of 15 to 20 who regularly get together for a ‘closest to the pin’ competition,” he said. “September might seem like a long way off, but it will be on us before we know it.”

GemLife Director and CEO Adrian Puljich said there were so many ways residents can become involved.

“Registrations open for spectators in August, and we encourage as many as possible to cheer on their friends and fellow homeowners in the spirit of fun and camaraderie,” he said.
