Mudjimba Anzac Day services

JOIN SERVICE PERSONNEL AND VETERANS AT 5:30AM ON MUDJIMBA BEACH FOR THE ANZAC DAY DAWN SERVICE AT THE POWER MEMORIAL PARK ON MUDJIMBA ESPLANADE, FOLLOWED BY A GUNFIRE BREAKFAST IN THE PARK.

Hosted by the Mudjimba RSL sub-branch, the dawn service will be followed by a community service that starts with a 10:30am march between Coolibah Street and Mudjimba Beach Road to Power Memorial Park for an 11am service.

The war memorial at Mudjimba Beach is located just back from the beach. It’s a tall stone monument dedicated to the memory of local residents who died in conflicts dating from the Maori War of 1860 to the Vietnam War, which ended in 1973. It also commemorates those who served in peacekeeping efforts worldwide from the late 1940s to today.

Other Anzac services in the Sunshine Coast area include:

  • The Maroochydore dawn service at the Maroochydore War Memorial at Cotton Tree Park, which takes place at 4:28am with an 8:30am march from the RSL in Memorial Avenue to the park, and
  • The Coolum-Peregian RSL will be holding a march from 5:10am from Seacove Lane to the RSL sub-branch, followed by a dawn service at the memorial next door to the club.
