Tim Dwyer was a young farmer when he first met his beautiful wife of 50 years, Cathy, a teacher, at the local theatre group. They married at St Mary Magdalene Church, Bardon, on 12 August, 1972.
Di and Bob Wakeham – GemLife Tweed Waters
Di and Bob Wakeham have known each other since they were 16 and were married 29 years ago in a garden wedding in Baulkham Hills, New South Wales, on 1 May, 1994.
Laurie and Kaye Butterley – GemLife Woodend
Laurie and Kaye Butterley were 21 when they married at the Church of Christ in North Essendon, Victoria, on 16 January, 1971. They were originally introduced at the age of 15 by Kaye’s brother and are still together 51 years later.

2024 will mark Ron and Lenore Sieber’s golden wedding anniversary. The couple first met in Sydney in 1971. “We fell in love and never parted,” said Lenore.

On 24 May this year Lorrie and Alan Krogh will celebrate 62 years of marriage. “We started young which allowed us to grow up with our three children, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Our secret to such a long and happy relationship is laughter and good communication.”
Bronwyn and Allan James – GemLife Woodend
Bronwyn and Allan James will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on 12 May this year. The couple met at a country dance. “I always wanted to marry someone with a moustache and Allan had a nice one,” said Bronwyn. They were married in a quaint bluestone church in Heidelberg, Victoria in 1973.
