The Gold Coast has a number of gorgeous green spaces to explore and to relax in.

Start at Rosser Park in Benowa. The Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens is open all year round and features beautiful attractions including a sensory garden with plants to smell and touch, delight in the native butterfly garden, stroll around the feature lake and have a picnic.

Take a deeper look into the secret life of gardens. The Friends of the Gardens group host guided walks to explore native and endangered plants. Learn more about Australian native bees and spot all the species of birdlife that call the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens home.

Wear your hiking shoes and bring your camera to go kangaroo and koala spotting at the Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area. This 1959-hectare reserve features a wide range of habitats including eucalypt, mangrove, wetlands and salt marsh with plenty of walking and mountain bike riding trails through out.

The Coombabah Lakelands Conservation Area is part of the internationally significant Southern Moreton Bay Marine Park and is registered in Ramsar Convention of wetlands of international importance.

These are just two of the beautiful parks and reserves out of more than 2000 the city offers.

The Gold Coast City Council has a Park Finder search service that lists more than 500 of the city’s parks with information about their size and facilities.
