A dream come true for new managers

WHEN THE OPPORTUNITY CAME UP TO FULFILL THE MANAGEMENT ROLE AT GEMLIFE BRIBIE ISLAND OVER-50S LIFESTYLE RESORT, NICOLE AND MARK LEE WASTED NO TIME IN APPLYING AND FELT IT WAS A DREAM COME TRUE WHEN TOLD THEY WERE SUCCESSFUL.

“We love being here at GemLife Bribie Island. We plan on staying a long time and becoming a part of the community – and what a beautiful community it is,” said Nicole.

The married couple are no strangers to the area.

“We are Brisbane born and bred so over all these years, Bribie has become like a second home to us. We have friends here and are regular visitors to the many terrific local venues and attractions, which we have come to love and enjoy,” said Mark.

Nicole and Mark bring with them many years of experience in management and hospitality, including managing large residential parks, although this will be the first time they have combined their talents to manage an over-50s lifestyle resort.

“We make a good team. Mark will concentrate on the outdoor gardens and maintenance, and I will handle administration,” said Nicole.

Although still only early days at the resort, the couple are already impressed with the terrific community spirit that greeted them from day one.

“Everyone is just so friendly. We see smiles everywhere we go, and residents have really gone out of their way to make us feel welcome. This has been wonderful because it can be so nerve-wracking to be the new kids on the block.”

The new managers believe they’ve hit the jackpot, being able to manage such a beautiful over-50s lifestyle resort in what they describe as ‘one of the best places in Queensland’.

“Bribie Island is such a special place with its beaches, cafes, and a gorgeous national park right next door. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to work and live and
look forward to getting to know many more residents and making new friends. Are we excited? You bet we are!”
