January 2022 Director’s Message

GemLife

Welcome to the January issue of The Gem and the start of a whole new year. 2022 has arrived and the next 12 months promises to be action-packed with new resorts coming online and several exciting launches and special events in the works.

Our Explore by GemLife motorhomes continue to be hugely popular with our homeowners and we have loved hearing about all the adventures residents have been enjoying. In this issue of the magazine, we share details of GemLife Woodend residents Warren Gilliland and Joy Maddex’s recent roadtrip. The couple was the first to take the resort’s stunning new motorhome on the road after Victoria’s restrictions eased. Turn to page 10-11 to read all about their trip.

On the Sunshine Coast at our GemLife Palmwoods hinterland site, the residential construction team has been making excellent progress on the resort’s first homes. Homeowners are getting excited about moving to GemLife Palmwoods in the first quarter of the year. In addition, the frame and roof for the managers’ residence has been completed, and work has begun on the retaining walls for the resort’s stunning country club. Next month, the civil construction team aims to start work on the steel framework for the elevated creek-side boardwalk which will be a wonderful amenity for the community to enjoy the picturesque surroundings.

With Operational Works approval now in hand for Stage Two at GemLife Pacific Paradise, the civil construction team is getting everything ready to break ground on site at the end of the month or in early February.

On the Gold Coast, we now have Council approval to start bulk earthworks and kick off the first stage of construction at our superb flagship resort. The finishing touches to the state-of-the-art GemLife Gold Coast Sales Experience Centre are being put in place. We cannot wait to welcome people to experience a taste of the lifestyle and offering to come. Stay tuned for details about the official opening.

At GemLife Highfields, our idyllic rural resort in country Toowoomba, Stage Five civil works are wrapping up and the residential construction team will begin building as soon as Stage Four homes are completed. Watch this space!

Civil works at our boutique resort in northern New South Wales, GemLife Tweed Waters, has been powering ahead with preparatory works on the waterfront country club coming along well. The architecture of the country club will feature a sleek, coastal look with references to southern Californian mid-century modernism, but with a Tweed twist.

On the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, building approval plans for the stunning two-level GemLife Rainbow Beach country club were lodged with the Building Certifier last month. I look forward to sharing details in future issues of The Gem. Despite the wet weather in the region, our civil works contractor has continued to make steady progress with the Stage One concrete roads now completed. In addition, our new sales office is looking great and is due to be completed in early 2022.

Further south, at our rural resort in Woodend Victoria’s spectacular Macedon Ranges Region, civil works wrapped up last month and work on the new tennis club building continued.

Coming up this year, GemLife will be getting behind some terrific community events including the Gold Coast Running Festival on 24 April, Victoria’s Run the Rock on 30 April, the Sunshine Coast Marathon & Community Run Festival on 14 August, and Ride the Range on 9 October. Homeowners or contract holders who would like to get involved can register their interest at [email protected] and find out more.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our readers and residents – current and future – a very happy new year and all the best for a wonderful 2022.

Yours sincerely,

Adrian Puljich - Director & CEO
