Frank’s legacy lives on through Victoria

GEMLIFE PACIFIC PARADISE SALES MANAGER VICTORIA DENT’S FATHER, FRANK OUTTRIM, WAS IN THE AUSTRALIAN ARMY IN WORLD WAR TWO, SERVING IN TOBRUK, PALESTINE AND NEW GUINEA.

“My grandfather was a captain in the same war as my father,” Victoria said.

“My grandfather fought in the First World War and enlisted in the second, mainly to look over his son. My poor nana had a son and a husband away at the same time.

“My grandmother got a letter from my grandfather saying he walked into a tent and there was his son (my dad) who didn’t know his father had enlisted. My father was like a lot of young boys back then – he put his age up so he could go and fight for our country, so he was only 17 when he went. My father never missed an Anzac Day march.”

Victoria will proudly wear Frank’s medals at Anzac Day at Villers-Bretonneux, France, this year.
