The ‘perfect’ home at GemLife Elimbah

AS SOME OF THE FIRST RESIDENTS TO CALL GEMLIFE ELIMBAH HOME, JENNIFER AND RON SMELT SAY THEY HAVE FOUND THEIR ‘PERFECT’ PLACE AND CAN’T WAIT TO ENJOY LIFE’S NEXT CHAPTER.

The couple, who were the fifth buyers and the second to move in, knew immediately that GemLife Elimbah was the place for them.

After years in a sprawling 380 sqm home with four bedrooms, an office and a pool, the pair realised it no longer suited their needs.

“It just wasn’t worthwhile keeping such a big house for the two of us,” said Jennifer.

With family spread across Sydney, nearby Morayfield, and Townsville in North Queensland, and new grandchildren on the way, the couple wanted a low-maintenance lifestyle that would keep them close to the people and places they love.

Their search began years ago when Jennifer first noticed an over-50s resort on her commute through Beerwah. When they discovered GemLife Elimbah, everything clicked.

“When we saw how spacious the homes were, we were hooked,” Jennifer said. Staying local was important, and the resort’s proximity to shops, the hospital and the highway made the decision easy.

The couple chose the Cottrill design with Facade 3, drawn to its generous layout, butler’s pantry, walk-in linen cupboard, a double-vanity ensuite in the master bedroom and a multipurpose room they’ve already earmarked as their new library.

Their outdoor area is just the place to host family and friends for the wine-and-cheese nights Jennifer is already planning.

With backgrounds in mechanics and natural medicine, and shared interests ranging from cars and writing to perfume-making, they’re eager to dive into community life even before the Country Club opens. “We talk to anyone,” Jennifer laughed. “We’re really looking forward to making new friends.”

For Jennifer and Ron, GemLife Elimbah isn’t just a new address – it’s the ideal place to live with everything they’ve always wanted.
