Physical exercise part of Pauline’s DNA

KEEPING ACTIVE IS A WAY OF LIFE FOR PAULINE WELLS WHO FILLS HER WEEK WITH A LONG LIST OF ACTIVITIES INCLUDING WALKING, EXERCISE CLASSES, WEIGHT TRAINING, AND YOGA.

The GemLife Tweed Waters homeowner, who moved into her new home last month, also plays tennis, squash and badminton.

“Being active is part of my DNA. I don’t like sitting around and doing nothing and have always played some sort of sport. I also love dancing and was attending Zumba classes until last year,” said Pauline.

The mother of three and grandmother of three (soon to be five), admits she would rather walk everywhere than take the car.

“It’s much better for you, it’s great cardio exercise and so exhilarating.”

Pauline walks about ten to 12 kilometres each week. Prior to moving into GemLife Tweed Waters, she lived only three kilometres away and regularly checked in to see the progress on her new home.

She can’t wait for the resort’s new Country Club to be completed and says she plans to be an enthusiastic participant when it comes to all the new facilities.

“I’ll use the gym and swim every day and also plan to take up pickleball – I love ball games!

Of course, I’ll do all that in the morning and when 5pm comes I can sit down, have a wine and socialise with other friends in the Country Club.”

Pauline, who is in her sixties, is also hoping there will be classes for activities such as yoga and aqua aerobics, which she loves.

Having moved to the Tweed from Sydney in 2010, Pauline has wasted no time in building a great circle of friends, many of whom love being active just like her.

“There are about 16 of us who do everything together. We all love exercising, walking and dancing and it’s such a fabulous feeling to be around like-minded friends who enjoy the same things. One of them has already moved into the resort and I am so looking forward to joining her,” she said.
