A class act – High quality homes part of the GemLife DNA

A act - High quality homes part of the GemLife DNA

An unwavering commitment to building homes of a consistently high quality is part of the GemLife DNA.

As both the developer and manager of its over- 50s lifestyle resorts, GemLife takes a long-term view, constructing homes that not only look good but are built to last.

GemLife General Manager Ben Livingstone said that GemLife’s build quality was frequently commented upon by residents, contract holders, and their families, especially by those with experience in the building trade.

“When former builders and tradespeople tell you that the homes are of high quality, you know you’re hitting the mark,” he said.

When GemLife launched its first over-50s lifestyle resort at Bribie Island in 2016, this commitment to quality was foundational to the company’s promise, grounded in a legacy passed down by Peter Puljich, founder and owner of GemLife’s parent company Living Gems.

“Peter started in the construction industry more than 50 years ago, coming to Australia as a young man with nothing but a formidable work ethic,” said Ben.

His insistence upon quality was passed down to his sons and underscores the GemLife ethos.” GemLife Bribie Island resident Derek Hainsworth, who moved into the resort earlier this year, said he and wife Faye were immediately struck by the quality of the homes and the designs.

“The layout is spacious and bigger than people might think, and the quality is excellent. Faye’s son is a builder, and he was also impressed,” said Derek.

Contract holders David and Annette Riseman, who knew nothing about over-50s lifestyle resorts prior to buying a home at GemLife Bribie Island, were also pleasantly surprised by the build quality and finishes offered by GemLife.

“All the homes are built beautifully – not just display homes like at some places. The quality is consistent, and the homes have everything. Nothing has been overlooked,” said Annette.

Ben said that having owned homes or built homes before, GemLife’s buyers were astute and knew quality when they saw it.

“They don’t accept anything less. And on top of that, we are driven to constantly improve and do things better. We really listen to what our homeowners are saying – we love feedback – so we are willing and have the agility to continuously improve and refine our processes to ensure the highest quality homes possible.”
