Welcome home - A whole new life at GemLife Palmwoods

It was move-in day for our first homeowners at GemLife Palmwoods last month and the excitement was through the roof!

GemLife Palmwoods Sales Manager Liz Millroy said the significant milestone marked the first steps toward building a brand-new community.

“We extend a warm welcome to all our wonderful first residents. We have all been waiting for this day in anticipation, and we are extremely thankful to everyone who has worked hard to help us get here,” said Liz.

Set in the idyllic and picturesque Sunshine Coast hinterland, the luxurious resort is a tranquil oasis tucked away between scenic parks and gardens, charming country towns and award-winning local wineries.

New residents Paul Hanson and Carolyn Febey have always been drawn to the Palmwoods area, having lived on the Sunny Coast for years.

“The fact that GemLife was set to build one of the first over-50s lifestyle resorts in Palmwoods was hugely appealing to us,” said Paul.

The couple was ecstatic to have moved into their two-bedroom plus multipurpose-room home. The extra room is their own peaceful sanctuary where they can unwind with a book or a cuppa and enjoy the serenity of the countryside.

Paul and Carolyn also love the idea of staying active and socialising with their fellow residents.

“We’re looking forward to all the upcoming activities and making new friends. The resort lifestyle is amazing, and the clubhouse facilities are of the highest standards,” Carolyn said.

Graeme and Angela Martin had no plans on selling their family home before they visited friends at GemLife Bribie Island. However, after spending half a day at the resort, they fell in love with the GemLife lifestyle.

“The close-knit community of Palmwoods was something we were attracted to. We love the semi-rural aspect of GemLife Palmwoods, with the views of the Blackall range,” said Graeme.

“It’s just a little step away from the busier coast while having the bonus of the Palmwoods township nearby, which is a lovely town with nice shops.”

“We’re excited to move into our modern new home. It has two bedrooms plus a multipurpose room which will be used as a study and a craft room since I love to sew and weave,” Angela added.

Dianne and Bob Murphy are another lucky couple thrilled to have moved into the resort. Originally from Victoria, they settled on the Sunshine Coast 30 years ago and haven’t looked back.

“We have a beautiful, spacious and new home that is perfect for us since we have so much stuff,” Dianne laughed.

GemLife Palmwoods is close to our daughter, her husband and our grandchildren who live in the Palmwoods hinterlands. This way we will be able to help them out with school pickups and drop-offs and bond with our grandkids.”

With their other daughter and grandkids living in Townsville, the pair can’t wait to book the Explore by GemLife motorhome.

“We can use the GemLife motorhome to take quick trips to visit them,” said Dianne.

As they settle down in GemLife Palmwoods and continue to meet their like-minded neighbours, the Murphys are delighted to start this new chapter of their lives.

“Now we look forward to having a happy and stress-free retirement.”
