DRAWN by the Sunshine Coast’s renowned natural beauty and famously vibrant lifestyle, Val and Ivan Rose moved from Mackay to start a new life at luxury over-50s resort GemLife Maroochy Quays.

The couple had long dreamt of relocating to the ever-popular region and, after researching several options in the area, were in no doubt the high-quality homes together with the extensive range of superb facilities at GemLife Maroochy Quays, ticked all the boxes.

Mr Rose said they looked at a lot of places, but GemLife Maroochy Quays had everything.

“The pricepoint, the facilities and the homes – everything was above the rest,” he said.

Flanked by the Maroochy River and Eudlo Creek Nature Reserve, the gated-resort’s location creates a sense of tranquillity and privacy but is close to the best of the Sunshine Coast’s unspoilt beaches, shopping and entertainment.

For an active couple like the Roses, the resort’s huge range of indoor and outdoor resort-style facilities, including a two-storey lakeside country club and stylish summer house, were major drawcards.

“We absolutely love it,” Mrs Rose said.

A 2km boardwalk, another example of what sets the over-50s enclave apart, incorporates long timber stretches that seamlessly blend with the natural environment. The walkway opens onto a jetty and deck area with expansive water views, giving the feeling of being worlds away.

“It’s beautiful. Ivan and I love to walk, and it’s just wonderful to be able to walk along the boardwalk,” Mrs Rose said.

“The viewing platform will be a great spot for a water-side picnic too.”

Mr and Mrs Rose look forward to enjoying the resort’s soon-to-be-completed summer house – an outdoor recreational precinct complete with sleek, modern pool house, magnesium pool with lagoon-style entry and submerged sunlounges, outdoor yoga lawn, barbecue and dining areas, and more. “The summer house will be great – I can see myself doing laps in the mornings at the pool,” Mrs Rose said.

The multimillion-dollar resort features a range of modern, two and three-bedroom homes, including single, two-storey and split-level designs with ultra-high ceilings and deluxe fittings and finishes.

GemLife Maroochy Quays is holding a summer-living open day on Saturday, November 7, from 10am to 1pm to showcase the resort’s new summer house and stage two split-level display homes.
