November 2020 Director’s Message

With summer around the corner, things are heating up at GemLife. This month we celebrate some of the fantastic outdoor facilities at our resorts. Our front cover, featuring residents at GemLife Maroochy Quays’ new Summer House says it all – bring on the sunshine!

It’s been an extremely busy month at GemLife, with construction powering ahead across all our sites.

At GemLife Maroochy Quays, the team is excited about the upcoming Summer-Living Open Day on Saturday, 7 November to showcase our superb new Summer House and stunning split-level display homes. Our volunteer cover girls had a blast getting into a summer state-of-mind to show-off the sparkling lagoon-edge swimming pool. The resort’s boardwalk looks terrific and we expect work to finish by the end of 2020. The first part of the suspended slab for the lakeside country club was poured last month and, with the final part to be completed in early November, it’s great to see this building taking shape.

A milestone was celebrated at our premium resort, GemLife Pacific Paradise, with the first meeting of the Home Owners Committee. Construction on the resort’s outdoor pool and recreation precinct, the Paradise Pavilion, is moving along well and we expect this terrific facility to be ready for use by May 2021.

The GemLife Highfields Display Homes Open Day was a tremendous success last month, with larger than expected numbers of enthusiastic visitors attending.

In Victoria, at GemLife Woodend, residents took part in the resort’s native revegetation and rehabilitation program with a tree planting day. More than 500 trees were planted in the resort’s unique protected woodland areas, a fantastic effort by all involved. The resort’s outdoor recreational precinct, which will include bocce and pickleball courts, in addition to a barbecue pavilion is also coming together beautifully and will be ready for use later this month. In addition, Stage Four civil works continue to progress steadily.

Onsite at our new Sunshine Coast hinterland resort, GemLife Palmwoods, clearing has been completed and earthworks are continuing.

Earthworks at the site of our new GemLife Gold Coast Sales Experience Centre are well under way. This state-of-the-art sales office will be unlike any other, giving prospective buyers a fuller and richer experience about what they can expect as residents of our flagship resort.

I am excited to announce the launch of a brand new resort, GemLife Rainbow Beach, located in the idyllic coastal town of Lake Cathie on New South Wales’ Mid North Coast. This resort will be GemLife’s tenth, and we cannot wait to see it come together.

I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate this year’s winners of the GemLife Grandparents Day Awards. We received lots of lovely submissions from our residents’ grandkids, and it really was tough choosing a winner for each of the three categories.
