Longing for freedom, Dennis and Janelle Jones sold their home and hit the road exploring eastern Australia in their van, prior to moving to over-50s lifestyle resort, GemLife Bribie Island, to establish a home base.
“GemLife is perfect for us because we can be here for three months and then we can lock up and hit the road for a couple of months with no worries,” said Mr Jones.
The Jones’ have explored Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania and cannot wait for their next big adventure.
“We are planning a three-month trip to Western Australia next year. In the meantime, we are very grateful to have secured onsite storage for our van,” he said.
The Jones’ had originally planned to continue to travel in their van for three more months before moving to the resort, but their travel plans were cancelled due to COVID-19.
“GemLife was wonderful with getting everything sorted for us. We purchased a display home and when we told them about our situation they quickly got everything ready for us and we moved in two months early,” said Mrs Jones.
“As soon as we drive over the bridge to Bribie Island it instantly feels like home,” she said.

GemLife Bribie Island hosted its Stage Four Display Homes Grand Opening on Saturday, 25 July with three 90-minute time slots available between 9:30am and 2pm.
