Downsizing and returning to her rural roots
Despite living in Brisbane for the past 20 years, Leanne Chandler is a country girl through-and-through with a strong yearning to return to her rural roots.
Leanne had been on the look-out for a home in the Sunshine Coast hinterland for years before jumping at the chance to secure a site at GemLife Palmwoods, becoming the new resort’s second contract holder.
“I had been keeping an eye on the market for three or four years, but there were just big blocks and acreage available,” said Leanne.
“I’d seen GemLife’s resort at Maroochydore in the early days of the development and was impressed with the quality of the building and I really liked the look and feel of the place. But the location just wasn’t where I wanted to be,” she said.
“I’m a country girl. I love the Sunshine Coast hinterland and Palmwoods is perfect for me.”
A keen traveller with a taste for adventure, Leanne was attracted to GemLife Palmwoods’ low-maintenance, lock-up and go lifestyle.
“When I’m camping or caravanning, I can leave whenever I want and don’t have to worry,” she said.
“The Palmwoods location is great. It is close to the highway, but not on it, and it is central to everything.”
Getting to know her future neighbours before moving into the resort through sales events is something Leanne also appreciates. “I enjoy getting to know other future residents over time – it’s really nice. It’s important to feel welcome in a new place and to feel part of the community.”
