Christmas Carols on Bribie Island

Christmas Carols on Bribie Island

If you’re looking for a family-friendly Christmas event where you (and the grandkids) can experience a night of fun and festive spirit, we have just the thing: carols by candlelight on Bribie Island.

Event Details

In partnership with other local groups and businesses, the Sandstone Point Community Association will be holding its annual Christmas carols by candlelight event on Saturday 10 December 2016.

Dubbed “An Aussie Christmas”, the event will kick off at 4:30 pm with food stalls and free family entertainment. Carols by candlelight are scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm, with a truly family-friendly wrap-up time of 8:00 pm

Held at the Sandstone Point Sports and Community Complex (202 Bestmann Road), this long-time popular event promises to be just as successful as previous years.

Live Nativity

In true Christmas fashion, there will be a live nativity at this year’s carols to commemorate the first Christmas more than 2,000 years ago. Community members are invited to take a photo with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus in the stable. And no, you don’t need to pay gold, frankincense or myrrh for the privilege!

Visiting Santa

Of course, no carols by candlelight is complete without a visit from everyone’s favourite jolly old man. Santa is scheduled to visit prior to the commencement of the carols, and because this is an Aussie Christmas, you can expect to see him in his Aussie Summer suit! You’re also welcome to take a photo with Santa in his personal photo booth.

The Carols

Several popular Bribie, Sunshine Coast and Bayside artists will be leading the music at this year’s carols. We’ll be keeping an especial eye out for Cassi Hilbers – a 14 year old singer/songwriter and Sunshine Coast native who’s performed across Australia.
