Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea kicks off in May

Love a lamington? Let them eat cake (for a cause)!

Cancer Council Australia’s popular and biggest fundraising event, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, kicks off this month.

For the third year in a row, GemLife is getting behind this important annual event, setting an ambitious fundraising target of $6000 which will help Cancer Council Australia fund research, prevention and support services for those affected by cancer.

Last year, despite COVID-19 restrictions, GemLife residents raised over $5000 through street stalls, garage door baked good sales, raffles and other initiatives.

Officially taking place on 27 May 2021, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is the perfect opportunity to cook and enjoy some home-cooked treats and a cuppa of your favourite brew, all in support of those who need it most. Participants can hold their morning tea any time in May and make donations up to 20 June.

GemLife Director and CEO Adrian Puljich said every dollar raised made a big difference for people impacted by cancer.

“We all know someone who’s had or who’s life has been touched by cancer. Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea raises vital funds to help make a difference in the Cancer Council’s aim for a cancer-free future,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what creative ideas GemLife residents come up with this year to support this very worthy cause.”
