Welcome to the April issue of The Gem. In recognition of World Health Day on 7 April, this month’s newsletter is all about health and wellbeing. We talk to our residents about their health and fitness passions and share some tips on the best spots to get fresh, healthy local produce nearby our resorts. With GemLife’s support of the senior division of the Noosa Festival of Surfing, we also asked some of our resident surfers to tell us about their love of hitting the waves.
On the Mid North Coast of NSW we celebrated the official launch of GemLife Rainbow Beach, our newest resort in beautiful coastal Lake Cathie. Over 100 guests from as far away as Sydney and Melbourne joined the GemLife team to hear more about the resort at a terrific marquee event (see page 22). Earthworks get under way this month and the team looks forward to starting the first home builds in August as soon as civil works are completed.
In far northern NSW, more celebrations were in order with the exclusive launch event for our boutique coastal resort, GemLife Tweed Waters. It was fantastic to be able to meet with future and prospective residents and share some of the exciting plans in store for this stylish and fast-selling new development, including civil works kicking into high gear next month.
On the Sunshine Coast, there was more excitement and action at our hugely popular GemLife Maroochy Quays resort with hundreds of visitors attending our open day at the end of March. We officially opened the resort’s picturesque boardwalk and showcased our new display homes, including our first-ever two-storey designs.
Construction on the outdoor pool and recreation precinct at GemLife Pacific Paradise is progressing well with a major milestone reached in March – the installation of the summer house roof. Building remains on track for a mid-2021 opening.
In the spectacular hinterland of the Sunshine Coast, the civil construction team is making excellent progress, despite setbacks caused by the recent heavy wet weather. Home construction remains on track to begin in June.
At our spectacular flagship resort on the Gold Coast, we are gearing up to begin bulk earthworks in June. Meanwhile, the state-of-the- art GemLife Gold Coast Experience Centre continues to take shape and we look forward to the building’s frame going up this month.
At GemLife Woodend in Victoria, we cannot wait for the official launch of the resort’s beautiful country club on Saturday, 1 May. The team is excited to open the club’s doors and welcome prospective residents to experience the GemLife lifestyle, plus view our latest display homes. For more information about the GemLife Woodend Country Club Grand Opening, turn to page 15.
For the third year in a row, GemLife is getting behind Cancer Council Australia’s annual fundraiser Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. I am keen to see what creative fundraising initiatives our residents come up with this year (see page 31)!
