This past month has been both a busy one and one in which we’ve been faced with some extraordinary challenges due to the global COVID-19 outbreak.
With World Health Day coming up this month, health could not be any more important than right now. With the wellbeing of our homeowners and future and prospective residents being of paramount importance, GemLife made the pre-emptive decision to postpone all our events, including the Ageless & Booming Downsizing Forum in Melbourne and the Bribie Island Stage Four Display Homes Grand Opening. Given the Australian Health Department’s recommendations to practise ‘social distancing’, we believe it’s important to minimise social gatherings and do our part to proactively reduce the potential risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus. For the same reasons, we also took steps to temporarily close common areas and facilities at our resorts. This move not only helps to protect our residents but also assists the Australian Government’s health response within the wider community.
On a brighter note, I’m pleased to report that building and construction continued to power ahead across all our resorts with solid progress on the Sunshine Coast at both Maroochy Quays and Pacific Paradise despite the wet weather.
Work has started on the Maroochy country club and the managers’ residence, and construction on the resort’s boardwalk and jetty is set to begin. A huge milestone was celebrated at GemLife Maroochy Quays last month with our very first resident, Laraine, moving in, followed by Sheryl and Allan, Joy, Wayne and Julie, and Geoff and Joanne bring our total to five settlements in March! Welcome to your place in the sunshine all!
Residential construction has been continuing at Pacific Paradise and work on the managers residence will start soon.
Meanwhile in New South Wales, construction of GemLife Tweed Waters’ on-site sales office is under way at Fraser Drive. When completed, visitors will be able to see detailed home designs, colour scheme samples, and touch and see flooring samples, for example.
In Victoria at our picturesque Woodend resort, construction of the eagerly awaited country club has been progressing well with residents and staff alike excitedly watching it take shape.
GemLife Woodend also celebrated an important milestone recently with the arrival of our 50th residents. Welcome to your new home Rodney and Jenifer.
On behalf of the GemLife team, make sure not only to look after your health this month but help others to do the same. If we all work together and support each other during the challenging months ahead, we will come out stronger in the end. Be safe, be kind and take care.
